"On a large enough time line, the survival rate for everyone will drop to zero." (Fight Club, Chuck Palahniuk)
I find it very difficult to talk about myself. First thing that might stand out is that I have a strong preference for using English - at least when it comes to profiles. Anyhow, I am ...
- an English graduate student, liking everything from Charles Dickens to Blackadder
- a Japanese student with interests varying from history to more contemporary stuff
- I tend to love history - not in the sense of memorising dates, but tracing through historical processes. Not only the "when" is important, but the "why" and "how" too!
- very fond of fairy tales, especially ones that are Darker and Edgier
- someone who's more literature and cultural studies orientated, rather than linguistically
- half Polish, half Indian (no, I don't speak Hindi nor Punjabi, though I understand both somewhat). Was brought up here, but attended English-speaking schools for more than half of my life.
- don't have any concrete career plans right now, though my dream was to be an archaeologist. Right now, I'm just setting on finishing my English diploma - which will be on Asian American writers.
